About Fruit Guide

Hello, I’m Chuta. I moved to Hanoi, Vietnam, in October 2020 and still live here, sharing the fruits I discover.

Fruit Guide introduces the flavors, aromas, ways to eat and seasons of fruits I buy at Vietnamese markets and supermarkets, based on first-hand experience.

When an unfamiliar fruit leaves you wondering “What does it taste like?”, “How do I eat it?” or “When is it in season?”, I hope this site will be an easy place to look for answers.

I hope it helps people visiting or living in Vietnam, and anyone interested in tropical fruits.

First-hand tasting and shopping experiences are at the heart of the site. Photographs and illustrations help make the information easy to understand. Enjoy discovering unfamiliar fruits.

Living in Vietnam

I moved to Hanoi in October 2020 and continue to live here. I regularly shop at markets, supermarkets and fruit stores, and use what I see, hear and experience locally in running this site.

Research and Article Preparation

Articles are based on local purchases, tasting, photography and checking shop prices and availability. Descriptions of flavor, aroma, texture and ways to eat come from my own observations.

For seasons, varieties, nutrition, history, statistics and quarantine requirements, I consult reliable sources such as official information from public bodies, research institutions, producer organizations and businesses. Prices and seasons vary by region, store, variety and time. Where appropriate, articles state the date and location of observations and distinguish first-hand experience from information based on published sources.

Corrections Policy

I aim to publish accurate, clear information. When I discover an error or a change in information, I check the evidence and correct the content promptly. Significant corrections affecting an article may be accompanied by an update date or an explanation of the change.
